The Mayan Prophecies: Unlocking the Secrets of a Lost Civilization
The Mayan PropheciesFrom the Prologue: The Maya were in possession of a complex and extremely accurate calendar. We are now able to decode at least some of their hieroglyphs, many of which turn out to be dates. What was of the greatest concern to the Maya was the sun and their belief in an apocalyptic future for humanity. It is easy to dismiss their concerns as simple superstitions, but what if (as Cotterell's work would seem to suggest) they knew more about this subject than we do? We owe it both to ourselves and our children to do the best we can to resurrect the knowledge. At least then we may be prepared for global changes even if we cannot control them. This surely must be the responsible attitude of all true scientists, and I for one--though I take no credit for Maurice Cotterell's discoveries--want to know. We can but trust that you, the reader, feel the same way. -- Adrian Gilbert Table of ContentsACKNOWLEDGEMENTS PROLOGUE The Mysterious Maya Mayan Concepts of Time A New Solar Astrology Maurice Cotterell in Mexico Land of the Rattlesnake The New Fire, the Chacmools, and the Skull of Doom Transatlantic Traditions The Olmecs and Atlantis The Sun, its Energy and Influences The Atlantean Cataclysm NOTES APPENDICES Astrogenetics Astrogenetics and the Twelve Astrological Types A Scientific Rationalization of Astrology Solar Radiation and Hormone Production in Humans The Sunspot Cyle The Decline of the Maya Catastrophe and Destruction Maya Numbers and Counting systems The Amazing Lid of Palenque GLOSSARY BIBLIOGRAPHY INDEX 1997 edition, 337 pages and 40 color photos and illustrations Links to More Info on the Mayans: An Introduction to the Mayan Calendar History & Info - The Mayan Calendar HomeQuestions?
