oils.
Lavender
Throughout
history, lavender has been valued for its impressive healing
properties and is commonly used in oil burners. The inhalation
of its vapor has both calming and stimulating effects.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a natural
oil, is an effective antiseptic, fungicide and bacteriacide, and
has many safe and effective uses in the health and cosmetics
industry. Tea tree oil was originally harvested from natural
bush environments and first used by the native Aboriginals in
Australia for medicinal purposes. Tea tree oil can be used
for a variety of common ailments like cold, flu, thrush, sinusitis,
cold sores, fungal infection, oily skin and infected wounds. A
surprising use for tea tree oil is as a disinfectant to purify air.
It is suitable for home use as well as in a hospital room as it does
not interfere with other treatment for the patient.
Herbal
Herbal candles contain a blend of tea
tree oil, lavender oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, and
marjoram. Tea tree oil has many medicinal properties. It is also
antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal and stimulates the immune
system. The familiar aroma of peppermint is
known internationally for both its warming and cooling
properties. Eucalyptus oil is best known as a decongestant
inhalation for chesty coughs, colds and catarrh. Marjoram has a
calming effect on the nervous system, relieving anxiety, stress
and perhaps deeper psychological traumas. It strengthens the
mind and helps to confront issues. May give a feeling of comfort
in cases of grief and loneliness since it has a warming effect
on the emotions.
Sweetgrass
Sweetgrass
is an herb that has been used over the centuries by Native
American medicine men for healing the mind, body, and spirit.
Sweetgrass has a mellow, almost soporific effect, and for many
is a useful aid to entering a meditative state. Sweetgrass was
strewn before church doors on saints' days in northern Europe,
because of the sweet smell that arose when it was trodden on. It
was used in France to flavor candy, tobacco, soft drinks, and
perfumes. In Russia, it was used to flavor tea and is still used
in flavored vodka.
Plain Beeswax
Plain beeswax candles
are made with no added scents and are available for
those who prefer a more natural product. Plain beeswax
candles are available in small and large sizes.
Herbal Beeswax (Herbee)
Herbal beeswax
candles are made with beeswax and herbs and specially
prepared and take over 6 weeks to make. Over 20 herbs and
homeopathic remedies are blended together. The muslin is soaked
in the mixture for 6-8 weeks. The muslin is then sun-dried and
used to make the herbal beeswax ear candles. Beeswax has a long
and rich history. It was treasured by ancient cultures such as
the Egyptians and Romans. In the fifteenth century in Europe,
beeswax candles became the choice of royalty, preferred for
their bright light and sweet aroma over candles of tallow
(animal fat). And so it was until the nineteenth century when
paraffin and oil lamps were introduced, and the pure, clean
light began to fade. Burning beeswax produces negative ions
which clean the air from dust, odors, toxins, pollen, mold, dust
mite feces and viruses.
