I became interested in the quality of the food I ate when I became pregnant with my first child in 1969. Before that time I had paid no attention. I took the vitamins and iron pills that the doctor gave me and I had a healthy son born in August of 1970. Less than a year later I had a healthy daughter born in July of 1971. Back then I didn't have access to the information on food that I do now. I thought I could buy whole wheat bread at the store and get bread that was good for you. I didn't know that if I had read all the ingredients on the label, I would have realized that the loaf of bread in that package contained a lot of "food" that was not good for me and my family. In that loaf was white flour, sugar (usually corn syrup), and preservatives, none of which have any nutritional value and all of which are detrimental to good health. The more research I do on nutrition, the more amazed I become at the intricacies of the human body and the food available to enhance, maintain, and recover good health. I will be posting Health Tips so that future mothers can benefit from what has taken me many years to find. Mike Brown has been training bodybuilders for over 30 years and is still learning as he goes. I came across a quote from John Wesley, theologian from the 18th century, which we all need to try: BY ALL THE MEANS YOU CAN IN ALL THE WAYS YOU CAN IN ALL THE PLACES YOU CAN TO ALL THE PEOPLE YOU CAN AS LONG AS EVER YOU CAN |
