Dear Mr. Troupe, My name is Bridgette Johnson. You may have heard about me through Van Fields. I'm writing you regarding my situation here in Vandalia. I arrived at Renz Farm in "96" and Dr. Hampton made his regularly check on me just like all the women here. I didn't hear any more from him until "98." He then called me over to Medical a.s.a.p. When I arrived, he told me that I had cancer, but he didn't know how far gone it was. He did a biopsy on me because I had an abnormal pap smear. He told me that he would get back with me when the results came back. Three months passed and I heard nothing. When he did call me back, he had lost the results. Finally, he found them and said that I had tumors but he assured me it wasn't a big deal. I was released from WERDCC in "98" and sent to St. Mary Treatment. There they wanted to know why he hadn't removed them. I was taken to the hospital but still nothing happened. I returned back to WERDCC in "99." I told Medical what was said about the tumors and they gave me something that made me even sicker. I finally saw Dr. Hampton again and he told me that the tumors were not dangerous. He recommended a Depro shot which he said would shrink the tumors and decrease the bleeding as long as I had the shot every three months. I started in September and I was alright for a minute, then I started having headaches and continuous bleeding. So I stopped the shots at the beginning of November. Medical tells me every time there's nothing wrong with me. I stay in pain and they will not give me anything for the pain and refused to see me until December 14. I don't know what to do or who to write but I really need some help immediately. I guess I'm tired of them refusing me the proper help and not hearing me out. Please Mr. Troupe, can you write me back and let me know if you could help me in any kind of way. It would be very appreciated. Sincerely, Bridgette Johnson
P.S. It would really help if you could call up here and talk to Medical and help me find a doctor that would know what's going on with me and help me with this situation. Dr. Jones is a GYN doctor that is on staff at a hospital. He comes here to assist all pregnant women. He has also seen women here with critical female problems such as myself. When he discovered tumors, most were scheduled right away for a hysterectomy. Dr. Hampton does biopsies on women and tells us that we are alright. The women here will back me on this statement. Medical refuses to allow other inmates to see Dr. Jones. Thank you again. |
